in business for 6 months and prior to this, I was a co-owner for many years of another business in the same area. I’ve certainly had my share of experiences with contractors during my tenure, including but no limiting interior designers, Laborers, Electricians, etc.
I first contacted Kathleen in November of 2008, I was in search of an interior designer that could provide an infusion of new ideas, professional insight and above all follow through with my vision of what I wanted to accomplish. I can honestly say that Kathleen exceeded my expectations of what could be done with the limited space that I was providing her as well as the budget and time line that I had set forth.
During my initial interview with Kathleen, she demonstrated great professionalism in providing me a background of her work, accomplishments, prior challenges and a passion for what she does. She was enthusiastic in sharing her ideas but also realistic in advising me of some of the challenges that I would face. With that being said, I was convinced that by hiring her she would follow through on her commitment and deliver as promised. She didn’t disappoint!
After the work was completed, I was happy, relieved and extremely satisfied. I couldn’t have asked for a better job to be done and I expect to be working with Kathleen again sometime in the future.

I had gotten to know Kathleen over the years when she was busy staging a furnishings store in San Diego that I frequented often. During one of those visits, I learned that she was going into business on her own and would be a design and staging consultant and it would be possible to hire her and use her expertise. Exciting news.
Within weeks, she was out at my home for the first time -- a relatively new home with large windows and high ceilings. A lovely home but with the high ceilings and spacious rooms, I was having a difficult time placing furniture and getting used to new proportions.
We chatted on that first appointment and canvased the house and discussed lifestyles, usage and the flow and feeling of our home. We then took off our shoes, rolled up our sleeves and got to work. It's amazing what two women can do and what furniture they can move on their own or with a furniture dolly in a short amount of time.
My house in a matter of hours was transformed with a new flow and warmth that it had lacked, show casing many of our favorite belongings. Kathleen is all about angling pieces and although skeptical at first, I soon learned that the new angles meant more space and cohesiveness.
In the subsequent months, Kathleen has been out on several occasions to help me work on fine tuning the staging of specific rooms, hanging artwork, etc. She has also left me with a list of furniture items to possibly seek in the future and the range of measurements of those items needed to use as a guide when browsing. I carry it in the car for reference. She's also helped in the selection of paint colors for specific rooms in the house.
This has been a wonderful journey with Kathleen and our home is warm, inviting and unique. It is a reflection of our personalities, our roots and the years that we resided in foreign lands. Our home. Warm, comfortable, eclectic and inviting.

I needed a designer to help me with colors. I had Kathleen come over with all her swatches to give suggestions as to what to do. Not only did she provide a beautiful pallet, she directed the painters in every detail.
Since there were several colors and designs it helped to have someone with such an eye for detail. Although she tries to use what you have already, Kathleen went shopping with my husband and me, after the painting, to find the decorative items we still needed, She even helped us put them on the wall or arrange them as needed. She completely rearranged our furniture to give a new, inviting look. Kathleen is such a pleasure to work with.
She’s easy to relate to, is open to your ideas and produces a product you are completely delighted with. I plan to call her for all my designer needs.

What Kathleen brought to my home was pure magic. What I started out with were those stark, emotionless colors (beige tone throughout) "a requirement with the so called ""standards of buying or selling of a home." Long hours were spent picking out colors, Kathleen constantly requiring my input to sense "my palate" and make the wonderful choices. When company arrives, such words as "warm", sensational and it is so YOU. Well Kathleen made this happen. Now we are in the middle of decorating... simple, yet so tasteful. Each room is different, with it's own personality... all being brought together to blend... thanks to Kathleen's uncanny insight. I just want to say thanks so much for lending me your vision Kathleen to enhance my own.
